Description

I have no idea how it happened. And I hadn't noticed at all until it came to priming it, but mega blaziken got this really weird very crisp edge split on his hip/stomach. It wasn't there before, so it must have been when I baked it again for the lava.
Yes, spoiler alerts I used liquid fimo and sculpey mixed with chalk pastels to make lava that would been in little streams and puddles on the base. I will be adding paint to the streams too as the effect was nice but not properly what I wanted. If it had been in larger amounts I would have been able to get it better and more lava-like.
But yeah so I baked it and then during priming I noticed the fissure. It seems deep enough but its fairly small so I was able to cover it up with milliput. The weird thing is I have no idea why it happened.

Beautiful sculpt!
Do you use armatures?  A line like that could be from thermal expansion.  Metal expands more than clay, so when it's finished baking, the clay has solidified and shrinks slightly as it cools, but the armature shrinks more.  If for some reason (not mixed well , clay layer is too thin, small bubbles, strain, etc) the clay is not strong enough it will crack when the armature shrinks away toward the center.  If the clay is cooled slowly it has less chance for the armature to cause it to crack.  It's much easier to fix that than if it's been dropped, so it's not a huge issue.  Sculpey bake&bond or liquid fimo applied to the crack and some extra clay if it's really deep, then bake again; otherwise epoxy putty of some sort is good.
